Justify This

Dear Friend,
What would your life be like if you did not feel you
have to justify your decisions or actions? After
weighing the pros and cons, consider
how much energy you spend
formulating a justification either for your own
purposes or as a way to explain it to others.
This week be conscious of how often you are in a
position of choice and your mind revs up its
justification machinery. "Well, I can have this donut
because I went to the gym this morning" or "I should
be allowed to play golf on Saturday because I've
worked so hard all week." The truth is you don't
need a justification to have a donut or play golf and
feeling like one is required causes stress. These are
small
examples, but see where this dynamic comes in when
making bigger choices in your life.
This week do one thing for no reason and with no
justification whatsoever!

" Live. And Live Well. BREATHE. Breathe in and
Breathe deeply. Be PRESENT. Do not be past. Do not
be future. Be now. On a crystal clear, breezy 70
degree day, roll down the windows and FEEL the wind
against your skin. Feel the warmth of the sun. If you
run, then allow those first few breaths on a cool
Autumn day to FREEZE your lungs and do not just be
alarmed, be ALIVE. Get knee-deep in a novel and
LOSE track of time. If you bike, pedal HARD and if
you crash then crash well. Feel the SATISFACTION of
a job well done-a paper well-written, a project
thoroughly completed, a play well-performed. If you
must wipe the snot from your 3-year old's nose, don't
be disgusted if the Kleenex didn't catch it all
because soon he'll be wiping his own. If you've
recently experienced loss, then GRIEVE. And Grieve
well. At the table with friends and family, LAUGH. If
you're eating and laughing at the same time, then
might as well laugh until you puke. And if you eat,
then SMELL. The aromas are not impediments to your
day. Steak on the grill, coffee beans freshly ground,
cookies in the oven. And TASTE. Taste every ounce
of flavor. Taste every ounce of friendship. Taste
every ounce of Life. Because-it-is-most-definitely-a-
Gift."

MOMS find Inner Peace
New seminar with focus on busy moms
This week a wonderful group from the MOMS Club
(Moms Offering Moms Support) of Pelham came to
Wings of Awareness for a new seminar titled "GOT
STRESS?!? Inner Peace for Busy Moms". There was
some "venting", a lot of laughing, and some serious
discussion about the true cause of stress and what
we can do about it.
Some of the comments after the session were: "The
material was enlightening and the presentation was
truly compassionate"' "You spoke to my soul",
and "The two speakers were very articulate and very
positive".
This particular seminar was created for moms of
young children and is available to be presented to
interested groups. If you know of a MOMS club or
similar group that would benefit from an enlightening
workshop about how to deal with the stresses of life,
