Accepting "What IS"

Dear Friend,
Deepak Chopra says, "When we struggle against this
moment, we struggle against the entire universe."
Accepting "What IS" is one of our greatest
challenges as human beings. So often we are
frustrated, annoyed and even angry about what we
have been given in the form of a circumstance or a
person that seemingly "shouldn't be" that way. We
think, "If only this weren't happening," or "If only he
were different", things would be OK. The truth is
that even if circumstances or people were different,
the way we think they "should" be, we would still find
something that isn't right. We'd still find sources of
frustration.
In each moment exists both the possibility of
acceptance and of struggle. It is a choice. Often it
doesn't feel like a choice, but simply knowing
it
is a choice is very powerful. Sometimes we may
emotionally choose the struggle, but knowing and
accepting that we have chosen it is a big step
toward a deeper acceptance of "What IS". This
week, observe where you struggle against
reality (as Chopra reminds us, the entire
universe) and simply remember you are
choosing. You maybe surprised to see what happens.

Joy
by Indian poet, Rabindranath Tagore
Joy
And Joy is Everywhere;
It is in the Earth's green covering of grass;
In the blue serenity of the Sky;
In the reckless exuberance of Spring;
In the severe abstinence of gray Winter;
In the Living flesh that animates our bodily
frame;
In the perfect poise of the Human figure, noble and
upright;
In Living;
In the exercise of all our powers;
In the acquisition of Knowledge;
in fighting evils...
Joy is there Everywhere.

Change Your Words, Transform Your Life
Seminar to be made into a DVD
On August 3rd the "Change Your Words, Transform
Your Life" seminar was offered at the Wings of
Awareness offices in Salem. The seminar room was
at capacity and the event was videotaped for use in
a DVD to be released later this year.
In the highly interactive session participants learned
about the impact of the language they use in their
everyday lives. One participant commented, "This
seminar opened my eyes to how much of what I say
affects my life in a negative way."
The "Change Your Words" seminar gives participants
the ability to recognize the disempowering language
that is commonly used and presents powerful,
affirmative alternatives, allowing them to choose
their language "ON PURPOSE". The next "Change
Your Words, Transform Your Life" seminar will be held
September 18 at 15 Ermer Road in Salem.
